Dr. Marissa Filderman is the incoming Director of the UA Reading Clinic. She is an Associate Professor of Special Education. Her research focuses on intensive reading intervention for students with and at-risk for reading disabilities and teacher training to support reading instruction and intervention. She looks forward to establishing community partnerships to ensure all Alabamans have access to high quality reading instruction and intervention.
Dr. Diane Sekeres brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the UA Reading Clinic. She is a retired professor who is passionate about ensuring that all students learn to read. Her research focused on children's literature, navigation of expository texts, and cognition. She serves in the CALT program and supports reading tutoring activities run through the center.
