As a Research Center at the University of Alabama, the Belser-Parton Literacy Center serves children, families and teachers at the local, regional, and national level through innovative investigations and support of literacy learning and teaching.
The Center has partnered with the Multiple Abilities Program and Northington Elementary School to provide tutoring for struggling readers. The focus is on comprehension of nonfiction and writing about reading to support comprehension, which provides support to NES students and invaluable teaching opportunities for MAP students as they learn to assess and teach reading and writing.
We are offering individualized reading tutoring this semester for students in grades 3-7. Click here for more information!
